Some two weeks after it debuted, the “Double Rider” option at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is no longer offered. In speaking with Cast Members this morning, they said that the “Double Rider” offering was no longer available, but did not give a reason why. Walt Disney World has not returned a request for comment about the offering. Single Rider is still available and open. “Double Rider” No Longer Offered at Smugglers Run The “Double Rider” option was a first for a Walt Disney World theme park and something that seemed uniquely suited for the Smugglers Run attraction. As you may know, Smugglers Run puts guests into the cockpit of the iconic Millennium Falcon ship from Star Wars as they go on a mission to collect valuable Coaxium (a fuel source) for space pirate Hondo Ohnaka. The cockpit holds up to 6 guests, and there are three “positions” within the cockpit that allow guests to participate in the experience. The front two seats are the pilots. They can literally steer the ship as you fly through galactic scenes. It’s not an open-roaming thing, think of it as a predefined path with some impressive leniency for steering off course. Basically like bumper bowling the Millennium Falcon. The two seats behind the pilots (one on each side of the cockpit) are the gunners. The. top-of-the-line skip-the-line “Premier Pass” is now available for all guests visiting Walt Disney World. This continues the rollout of the program, which was originally exclusive to just Deluxe Resort hotel guests. Following the initial test period, the program was then offered to all Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests – still not available for guests staying off-site. Starting today, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass is now available to all guests visiting Walt Disney World. Lightning Lane Premier Pass Available to All Lightning Lane Premier Pass is offered at each of the four Walt Disney World theme parks, and it allows the holder to skip the line at each of the Lightning Lane-eligible attractions once per day. The value is found in the fact that Lightning Lane Premier Pass holders don’t need to book a return window to skip the line at attractions. Another benefit is that the Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows guests to skip the line at both Lightning Lane Multi Pass attractions and Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions. With Lighting Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass, guests need to purchase the skip-the-line pass and book a return window at a specific attraction to use the pass. This runs the risk of attractions not having an ideal return window for your day, or an attraction could be completely sold out of return windows. The Lightning Lane Premier Pass skips that headache, allowing you to simply walk up to an eligible attraction and skip
Good morning from a very cold and rainy Disney’s Hollywood Studios where we noticed that the Voyage of the Little Mermaid sign has been completely removed as Disney prepares to open a new show this Summer. The new show, titled The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, was originally scheduled to be open by now but has been delayed for a Summer opening. Walt Disney World says that the new show will feature “stunning new set pieces, cutting-edge effects, and a bold new design that captures Ariel’s imagination and emotions through her unique view of the world around her”. The new show will be based on the animated film, and Kiss the Girl scene. The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure concept art Back in October 2024, Disney said that work on the exterior of the building would begin “soon”, but there have been no visible changes…until now. Here’s a look! Changes at the Voyage of the Little Mermaid Sign We’ll start with a look back at the sign as it appeared until recently. An underwater backdrop with a convex curve follows the corner of the building roof on which it sat. Ariel, Flounder, and Sebastian were 3-D figures, while Ursula and King Triton were flats. Here’s a detailed look at the sign before the changes. And here’s a look at the missing marquee from our visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning. As you can see, it’s gone. The
