Construction is underway at the entrance to Disney’s Beach Club Resort as part of a 3-month refurbishment of the exterior of the resort. As a result of the construction, the porte cochere is closed to guests and construction walls surround the area. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will undergo a similar refurbishment beginning next month. We made it out to Disney’s Beach Club Resort recently to take a look at the work. Exterior Refurbishment at Disney’s Beach Club, Porte Cochere Closed Disney’s Beach Club Resort will be undergoing routine exterior maintenance from early June through September 2025. During this time, the porte cocheres will be closed. While efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, construction may be noticeable during daytime hours. All services—including valet, luggage assistance, and transportation—will remain available, and most Resort amenities will continue to be offered.Walt Disney World Regular services such as valet, luggage services, and transportation options remain available here. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is undergoing a multi-month refurbishment of the main lobby. When the work is done, there will be an all-new walk-up lobby bar, inspired by the former birdcage, as well as some refreshed spaces such as the check-in counter. We made it out to the resort earlier today to get an updated look at the work taking place! Walk-Up Bar Progress We’ll start with the star of the show, a new walk-up lobby bar. Walt Disney World previously released concept art of the lobby refresh, and the new bar was an unmistakable centerpiece. The bar is inspired by the former birdcage that sat in the same spot for decades. Minus the new bar, the look and feel of the lobby appears to retain the same charm that guests love. Let’s take a look at the current state of the work. Since we last checked in on the project, the planter-style foundation that the birdcage previously sat on has been demolished. It looks like there is a bit of a hole here now, as crews prepare for the installation of the bar. Without knowing what was under the planter that was demolished, it also looks like some new infrastructure is in place, perhaps to support some of the features needed for a bar (like a sink). Here’s a look around the area from an elevated vantage point from the second floor of the Grand.
Okay, so this might sound a little wild, but has anyone here ever recreated a fantasy scene just to watch it back later? Not even to act it out, just to visualize it in detail. I’ve always had this super vivid imagination, and one day I figured I’d try building out this private little scene — lighting, setting, everything — almost like a short film. It wasn’t about filming myself or anything like that, more like digitally creating it and then watching. Honestly, it felt weirdly satisfying. Anyone else ever do something like that?
So… after years of doing the corporate thing, I finally quit my 9-to-5 three months ago. It was terrifying, not gonna lie. I had a decent salary, benefits, the works — but I was constantly drained. Now I’m freelancing from home, and while it’s kinda freeing to choose my schedule, I’m also second-guessing myself every time a slow week hits. Anyone else been through this? Was leaving worth it for you?
