The My Disney Experience (Walt Disney World) and Disneyland apps have updated to version 8.6 with improved navigation in the map views.

Disney Apps Update

Now when viewing the map in either app, filter options are listed across the top, instead of only being visible after clicking on a menu arrow. The options in the My Disney Experience map view are Wait Times, Dining, Attractions, and Entertainment. Wait Times is automatically selected when you open the app, and you can select the Locations option to filter by theme park or Disney Springs.

Each menu has a Show List option. The list will appear at the bottom of the screen. As you scroll, the list will enhance to full screen but clicking the X will go back to the map.

When Dining is selected, the filters are Locations, Mobile Orders, Reservations Accepted, Quick Service, and Price Range. Dining venues will show up on the map with a fork and knife symbol, mobile order symbol, or wait time. If you click on the filters icon before Locations, you can find more filter options, including cuisine. There is also an option to reset all filters.

The Attractions option shows all attractions, including those that don’t have wait times. They are represented by star icons while other attractions feature wait times. Attraction filters include Locations, Thrill Rides, and Height. The filters icon leads to filters for interests, physical considerations, service animals, and more.

Entertainment displays shows and nighttime spectaculars with a top hat icon or wait time. You can filter by Locations, Fireworks, Nighttime Spectaculars, or Parades. The filters icon allows you to view more entertainment types, interests, and age ranges.

Continue scrolling through the top menu to select Characters, Restrooms, Shops, Transportation, Guest Services, Events and Tours, PhotoPass, and Resort Hotels. Each includes a Locations menu and other relevant filters.

The Disneyland app includes most of the same menu options, albeit in a different order. Disneyland does not have a separate Wait Times option and adds an option to view Spa and Recreation.
