The Walt Disney Company has just released a statement on the official Disney Parks Blog announcing a commitment of $15 Million to help those impacted by the fires still sweeping across Los Angeles.

Walt Disney Company Donates $15 Million to Fire Relief

The official statement insists that the “history of The Walt Disney Company is inextricably linked to the greater Los Angeles region” and calls the recent devistation “heartbreaking.”

Disney says their donation will help support multiple organizations, including the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The Disney Company will also continue to offer additional resources to the many cast members effected by the fires through their Employee Relief Fund.

Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger is also quoted, “As this tragedy continues to unfold, The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and our employees as we all work together to recover and rebuild from this unbelievable devastation, Walt Disney came to Los Angeles with little more than his limitless imagination, and it was here that he chose to make his home, pursue his dreams, and create extraordinary storytelling that means so much to so many people around the world. We are proud to provide assistance to this resilient and vibrant community in this moment of need.”

The statement concludes with the company expressing its heartfelt gratitude to the thousands of firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to help save lives and prevent further devastation.
