A post on the official Universal Studios Japan X account (previously Twitter) has announced the reopening date for Jurassic Park: The Ride.
Reopening Date Announced
Jurassic Park: The Ride has officially been announced to reopen on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
As we previously reported, Jurassic Park: The Ride has been closed since September 4, 2023 for an extended refurbishment. A translated version of the text says “Jurassic Park – The Ride, which has been closed for renovations since September 2023, will reopen on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to its reopening.”
The post by Universal Studios Japan includes a brief video clip showcasing elements of the ride, all looking fresh with new coats of paint and the classic “Jurassic Park” soundtrack playing in the background.
Jurassic Park: The Ride
Jurassic Park: The Ride opened with the rest of Universal Studios Japan in 2001. The attraction is a floating boat ride through Jurassic Park where guests encounter several animatronic dinosaurs. The attraction culminates in guests coming face-to-face with a giant T-Rex and plunging 85 feet into the water.
Jurassic Park: The Ride is one of a series of Jurassic Park-themed attractions and locations at Universal Studios around the world. We wrote an extensive article celebrating every Jurassic Park attraction to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary last year.
You can watch our full POV video of the ride before its closure above.
