The Swiss Family Treehouse at Magic Kingdom is currently closed for a month-long refurbishment.

Swiss Family Treehouse Refurbishment

A construction barrier with oars blocks a pathway surrounded by lush greenery. Signs are visible on the barrier, hinting at maintenance or renovation work ahead.

The Swiss Family Treehouse has been closed since November 18, 2024. Disney states it will reopen on December 20, 2024. Construction walls block access to the treehouse, which is likely closed now because of the cold weather.

Sign for Swiss Family Treehouse with a message: "Soon, we will invite you to visit this house, which has given our family comfort, solace and protection from the untamed wilderness. Franz R." Re-opening soon.

A sign on the construction walls features a note from Franz Robinson:

Soon, we will invite you to visit this house, which has given our family comfort, solace and protection from the untamed wilderness.

Green scrim and scaffolding are up around the treehouse as crew members work on it. The standard refurbishment will likely not include any major changes to the opening day attraction.

The Swiss Family Treehouse at Disneyland existed from 1962 to 1999, when it was transformed into Tarzan’s Treehouse. It closed in 2021 and reopened in 2023 as the new Adventureland Treehouse—Inspired by Walt Disney’s Swiss Family Robinson.

Tarzan’s Treehouse still exists at Hong Kong Disneyland. The Swiss Family Treehouse also exists at Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.
