Some construction walls have come down from Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop at Magic Kingdom, revealing new counters.

Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar Refurbishment

Two employees stand behind a wooden counter in a themed store. A chain barrier guides customers. The floor is stone-tiled, and the walls are yellow with arched openings.

Cast Members said the counters are the most significant change to the store. They resemble mismatched wooden crates and barrels.

We did notice a ball was already missing from atop one of the store’s stanchions.

The construction walls blocked off most of the store for the past few months. There was only a minimal amount of merchandise and enough space for guests to exit the attraction.

The store features props like pirate flags, maps, and paintings.

There are still some construction walls in the courtyard. We could see a ladder reaching up to the roof.

The steel framework of one wall is exposed.

Refurbishment of the shop began in June and Tortuga Tavern became Tortuga Treasures soon after. The Pirates of the Caribbean clocktower was reimagined this summer. The construction work all seems to be in preparation for the new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern set to open next year. The tavern is taking over the former Pirates League space adjacent to Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.
