Starting on Tuesday, Walt Disney World introduced MagicBand+ interactivity to stage shows across the resort.

MagicBand+ Theater Show Magic

A family is sitting indoors, surrounded by blue lighting. A child wearing a bow headband looks excitedly at a wristwatch, while an adult next to them reacts happily.

Guests will experience the new “Theater Show Magic” feature at For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Beauty and the Beast — Live on Stage, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!, Turtle Talk With Crush, and Festival of the Lion King.

Guests with the wearable will experience the band vibrating and lighting up during key show moments.

Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was the first Walt Disney World theater show to introduce wearable interactivity for a limited time this summer to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary.

MagicBand+ already interacted with Walt Disney World nighttime spectaculars. It can also be used to trigger effects at the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection sculptures and play the Batuu Bounty Hunters game in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Like any MagicBand, MagicBand+ can open hotel room doors, charge purchases to a hotel folio, link photos, and act as a theme park ticket.
