Does anyone have thoughts on how the park experience differs when there are more vs fewer Magic Key holders present? In particular:
- Do you notice more people “talking over the show” and such on Magic Key -heavy days? For example, I was there recently when no tiers were blocked out, and observed stuff like a guest in the RotR prison cell loudly telling his friends “here’s where the door will open” (like dude, this could be somebody’s first experience on RotR!). Same with more generally talking over the RotR pre-shows and HM stretching room, etc. Might that be less likely when some of the tiers are blocked out, or is it a comparable issue with “day guests”?
- On the positive side, Magic Key -heavy days seem to mean less use of LL and thus less slow / backed-up standby queues. Do any of you notice this, or is it only noticeable in extreme cases like high-crowd-level days when all four tiers are blocked out?
I got to thinking about this because I’m taking a first-time visitor whom I’m hoping will fall in love with Disneyland, and I’m deciding between a day with no blockouts and a day with the bottom two tiers blocked out (the Touring Plans crowd calendar estimates similar crowd levels for both—a 5/10 on the “no blockouts” day and a 6/10 on the “two blackouts” day).
I’m really keen to hear other MiceChatters’ opinions/experiences
