It been a long time I set foot inside Disneyland. It been since 2012 I stopped going. Until March 6, 2025.
So much as change and so many parts have remain untouched, the same have I remembered. The nostalgia, it was great feeling to be back.
I went along with my friend. Who haven’t seen some time. Catching up in life together.
I only came one day. Thursday. Practically yesterday. Disneyland had short park hours. Due to the 90’s after party event. So we spend our last hour at Disney California Adventure.
I was to arrive and sorting out paying the difference of paying old outdated ticket unused from 2020.
I was able to pay the difference for the two day park hopper. I didn’t complain much. I thought I still didn’t had to pay the outrageous sticker shock of today’s prices upfront. LOL
I thank the cast member in the booth for helping me sort out paying the difference and how use the Disneyland app.
I hopped into Disneyland and walked out of the exit to meet my friend at Disney California Adventure. We hit on Soarin’ Over California. It was exactly how I remember the attraction. Relaxing and fun. But I thought they need to update the film. It looks outdated.
We walked over to the Little Mermaid. I saw the sights of the pier. I was mortified of Pixar overlay. And then we walked to the gates of Disneyland. I wanted to cry since it felt so long to be absent to place I do hold on in my heart. Main Street look like I how remembered from my high school youth. Untouched and charming.
We hit on Space Mountian. It was fun but jerky feeling. I still wanted to go on it again.
Then we head into Adventureland. Hitting up Indiana Jones. Fun how as I remembered. But very jerky feeling. I wanted to go on all the classic fantasyland dark rides. My friend just look at me I was crazy. I was like “Girl! I haven’t gone back for many years! Let me relive my childhood!”
She laughed at me. She assured me we go on them later. That was a lie.
But we went back to California Adventure to try out Spider Man. I didn’t really want to but we did. I was not expecting to like it. But I actually thought it was fun. Would I go on it again? No. I feel Toy Story Mania was better. This is something I would skip if I was on my own. I got some more glimpse of Avengers Campus. It definitely not the most exciting land out in the park.
We went to eat out. We were all hungry. We went to try Naples. I didn’t think it was stellar, my dish was okay. I really wanted to tell my friend we should have went out somewhere out of the Disney bubble. I was secretly craving for some Pho. It was raining at this point. That’s perfect time to eat some Pho during on a cold rainy day. Oh well.
My friend had some type of key holder. She wanted to take advantage of her discounts. Later I found out she had the Inspire Key.
We head back to Disneyland. Went to explore Star Wars. I really like the land. Lots of places to take pictures. It was kinda sad how theirs only two attractions for a large land. Definitely a placeholder for Instagram. But I do wish more substance in the land. I tried Smugglers Run. I thought it was fun. I thought it was Star Tours reimagined. We were about to try out Rise of the Resistance. But it shut down. So we headed to Toontown. I got to see Mickey Railroad Runaway attraction. I actually like it but I felt the entire scenes are flat looking. I didn’t enjoy the CGI screens. But I DID love the concept. Would I go on it? Yes! My favorite? No.
It was 7:00 PM. Rise of the Resistance was reopen. We head on that. I thought it was a great attraction. Very fun. It helped me to dry off in the rain. However my shoes were still soaking wet.
We head back to Disney California Adventure to go on Mission Breakout.
As much I miss the Tower of Terror. Mission Breakout was actually fun. The drop sequence was definitely unexpected and engaging. It felt more thrilling. Maybe too thrilling for my taste. LOL
But it made me sad, I wish we had the old theme back. But with sequence of how drops are in Mission Breakout.
We headed to Carsland. I wanted to go on Raider Spring Racers. I didn’t care at this point it was raining. I had to go on it at night! It was already 8:30 PM at that point.
We ate around the Pacific Warf. I didn’t want to eat in the parks. But I had gotten Honey Walnut Shrimp Wrap from Lucky Fortune Cookie. It was okay. I didn’t like how the shrimp was overcooked. I didn’t enjoy the sauce was over the exterior of the wrap. I didn’t not like how my hands gotten sticky. I bought Thai Tea to go along with it. Worst purchase ever. The drink tasted like crap. I was annoyed with price of the drink. I felt gyped.
I was not a fan of using the app. Disney should ditch of ordering and paying food on the app. It made the service SLOW…the app wouldn’t let me place an order. I had waited over 15 min (close to 20 min) to place an order in line. I thought it was Ridiculous for over the counter food at an amusement park.
After that. We headed to the Pier. I saw World of Color while walking to Toy Story Mania. My friend LOVES Toy Story Mania. So that was the last attraction to go on for the day to close on. It was fun.
After that we walked to Downtown Disney to spend some souvenirs. I spend on candy, of course. I bought tea set for my neighbor. I felt guilty of not responding to her text if I wanted some Chicken Soup.
Disneyland had short hours. It was raining. So many attractions in Disneyland were skipped for those reasons. I didn’t felt bothered to go on any much outdoor attractions like Big Thunder or Matterhorn. Next week I have to finish last of the two day park hopper. I do WISH Disney gave more layaway of timing. 13 days period to use all of the multi day pass is absurd for today admission prices. I would have like a month period to plan out. I don’t like this reservation holding. It just delays and add more annoying time to plan your vacation. The app is way worse to plan everyone on your trip like that. I don’t want to be on my phone! We’re supposed to be enjoying your time at the parks with your family, your friends, the people who are inviting that are especially dear to you.
I am still glad to return back to Disneyland Resort. I had fun despite Disney going digital with planning everything on the phone. And the short hours.
