WE TRIED DISNEY’S NEWEST RESTAURANT AND IT WAS AMAZING!

Located at the brand new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Wailulu Bar & Grill is the perfect place to enjoy great eats, incredible views and a tropical ambience. We recently tried a couple of different food dishes and drinks at Wailulu…

Ahi Tuna Crisps: Marinated Ahi Tuna, Crispy Fried Wontons, Avocado Crema, Sriracha-Aïoli, Soy Glaze ($17.00)
Summary: They’re pretty much like tuna nachos, and they’re AMAZING! We’ll definitely get these again when we come back!
Rating: 9/10


Crispy Chicken Wings: Adobo-marinated, Soy Glaze, Tomato-Fresno Pepper Relish ($15.00)
Summary: Honestly some of the best wings we’ve had at Walt Disney World! They rival the Ohana wings (which is also at the Polynesian) and the Geyser Point wings, which are at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort.
Rating: 9.2/10


Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl: Sushi-style Rice, Pickled Cucumbers, Vegetables, Spicy Poke Sauce, Macadamia Nuts with Ahi Tuna ($26.00)
Summary: We’re huge fans of a good poke bowl, and this passed the test! Everything in this dish was so fresh, healthy and delicious.
Rating: 9/10


Passion Fruit Garibaldi: Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur, Campari Liqueur, Minute Maid® Orange Juice ($16.50)
Summary: This drink was really good! Wailulu has created a really creative drink menu that stays true to the resort’s theming!
Rating: 8.5/10


Kula Strawberry Sake: Wildflowers Junmai Sake, Campari Liqueur, Rockey’s Botanical Liqueur, Wild Strawberry ($16.50)
Summary: This had a botanical flavor to it, and it surprised us how good it ended up being! At first we were unsure of it, but as you keep sipping it and hear the story behind the drink, it gets better and better after each sip! It’s definitely an acquired taste though.
Rating: 8/10

We highly recommend dining here! The food is incredible and there is still so much left to try! We heard the Short Rib Loco Moco and the Sweet Potato Hummus are must-try’s. This restaurant is perfect for Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing too! You just have to make sure you get there early for a good seat! Currently, there are no reservations (walk-up list only), but that should change soon! Overall, this restaurant earns a solid 9.4/10 rating from us! You can see the full menu HERE.
