EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays is BACK! When you visit EPCOT from November 29-December 30, 2024, you can celebrate the holidays at EPCOT by experiencing holiday flavors, festivities and traditions from around the world. We went during the opening weekend and here’s what you can expect to do, eat and see at this cherished festival!
FLAVORS
The food was incredible at this year’s festival! There were so many different flavors from different cultures around the world. Some of our favorite dishes were…
– Smoked Salmon Potato Latke (Location: L’Chaim! between Morocco and France)
– Reuben Croquettes: pastrami, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese with thousand island dipping sauce (Location: Favorites of Festivals by CommuniCore Plaza)
– Blackened Catfish with Hoppin’ John and Comeback Sauce (Location: American Holiday Table by The American Adventure)
– Sushi Tree Roll: Christmas tree-shaped sushi roll with krab meat and cream cheese topped with ikura salmon roe and spicy mayo (Location: Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen in Japan)
You can also participate in the Cookie Stroll! If you purchase at least five cookies on the stroll while collecting matching stamps for each cookie purchased, you can bring your Festival Passport back to Holiday Sweets & Treats to receive your prize treat!
FESTIVITIES
There was so much do to at this year’s festival! The entertainment was top-notch. Some activities you can’t miss are…
Candlelight Processional: Experience the story of Christmas with a celebrity narrator and glorious massed choir—accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra, herald trumpets and the Voices of Liberty. Josh Gad was the celebrity narrator when we were there! Here is the list of celebrity narrators at upcoming Candlelight shows.
JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season: Witness a joyous tribute to Christmas and Kwanzaa – with Gospel, R&B and holiday songs.
Living with the Land – Glimmering Greenhouses: Celebrate the most bountiful time of year with a special voyage through greenhouses decorated with dazzling lights. This was AMAZING. It was so cool to see Living with the Land have festive holiday decorations! Everything was gorgeous! This was one of our highlights of the night.
There’s also Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt—available only during EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. Here’s how it works…
- First, purchase your map and stickers for $9.99 plus tax from select merchandise locations, including Creations Shop and World Traveler.
- Using the stickers on your map, mark the “tradition” that Olaf has found in each Pavilion around World Showcase.
- At the end of your adventure—even if you don’t find all of the holiday traditions—you can bring your map to Disney Traders, Creations Shop or World Traveler and redeem your map for a gift worth melting for!
TRADITIONS
As we were walking around the countries, we noticed lots of different holiday traditions were showcased! Some notable traditions were..
Holiday Storytellers: Gather around as lively storytellers share holiday legends and lore from around the world.
Decorations: The decorations at this year’s festival were BEAUTIFUL. From the lights to the trees to the sparkles, everything was absolutely stunning! Each country displayed holiday decorations that meant something to their country and culture.
WHAT ELSE?
Oh, we forgot to mention there’s a HUGE Gingerbread Spaceship Earth!
There’s also some jolly holiday merchandise!
