It’s time to go bananas for some fun-themed food at Super Silly Fun Land at Universal Studios Hollywood! Minion Cafe is a quick-service option that serves American food such as nachos, grilled cheese, rotisserie chicken, chicken tenders, and more. They also have a delicious array of Minion-themed desserts you won’t want to miss out on! Adults 21+ can also find beer here.

During my recent visit to the park, I tried this place out for lunch for the first time. The cafe is located in the Upper Lot next to Super Silly Fun Land. The decor is bright and colorful; the menu is on the smaller side but with some good options. It is set up as a takeaway cafeteria-style service. They also have some super cute Minion popcorn buckets here, so if that’s your thing, this is the place to get one (the one below is their Halloween bucket for the spooky season!).

Here’s what I was able to try!

Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese with Banana BBQ Sauce

Sharp cheddar cheese, pulled pork, caramelized onion, crinkle cut fries, banana BBQ sauce dip

This sandwich doesn’t look like much, but it is actually really good! The pulled pork is tender and flavorful and while the menu says it has cheddar cheese, it’s more like a white cheddar cheese that is melty and gooey that goes so well with the pulled pork. This sandwich tastes even better with just a small dunk in the BBQ sauce, and for those of you weirded out by the idea of banana BBQ sauce, I did not taste any banana in it at all! The crinkle fries are the same as the ones you can find around the rest of the park, and they are so tasty!

Loaded Nachos with Chicken

Chicken tinga served in a tortilla bowl topped with white queso, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and cilantro

I was a bit disappointed by these. The chicken is tender and flavorful and the ratio of ingredients is great; however, I think I just wasn’t impressed with the white queso. It somehow made these taste “cheap.” These weren’t awful, but I would choose the pulled pork sandwich over this option.

Felonious Float

Blue Raspberry Icee, banana frozen yogurt, banana candy, whip cream

This dessert float is clearly missing the banana candy (they were disappointingly out when I ordered). However, this was delicious nonetheless. This treat is especially good on a warm day and has so many good flavors. The banana frozen yogurt is really what makes this delicious and pairs great with the blue raspberry icee!

Overall, this spot doesn’t have phenomenal food that’s going to blow you away, but it’s pretty decent for a quick-service option. It also does offer mobile order, which is super convenient, but it doesn’t have all menu options if you go that route. The Felonious Float was not available when I ordered, so I ended up just hopping in line to order. This is a super cute quick-service spot, especially if you have kiddos with you!
