The Lunar New Year Festival at Disney California Adventure is officially in full swing, and there is plenty of food, drinks, and treats at each festival marketplace. This is one of our favorite festivals, as it offers a wide variety of Asian-inspired dishes prepared with a Disney twist. Guests can enjoy the festival this year from now through February 16, 2025. Check out our highlight reel from the event on our Instagram page here!

This year, I tried one item from each booth, most new to the festival, and I have provided my review below to help you decide whether some items are a must-try or a skip! To sample food throughout the festival, remember to get your 2025 Lunar New Year Sip and Savor Pass—available for purchase to all Guests. Each pass includes 6 digital coupons you can redeem for select food and nonalcoholic beverages at participating Lunar New Year Marketplaces and dining locations. A Sip and Savor Pass is $48 or $45 for Magic Key holders.

Bamboo Blessings

Brown Sugar Milk Tea

Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co.® Ceylon Tea, Hotteok-inspired Brown Sugar Syrup, Maple & Butter Pecan Syrups, and Oat Milk, garnished with Banana Milk-infused Whipped Cream

I love a good brown sugar milk tea, but unfortunately, I didn’t really get much of the brown sugar taste in this one. I did, however, taste the maple and butter pecan syrups, which add a nice little flavor to this one. I also didn’t taste the banana milk-infused whipped cream either; it tasted like regular whipped cream to me. Nonetheless, it was a good drink to accompany all the food! Just because I couldn’t taste all the fun flavors, I’m knocking a few points off my rating. 8/10 rating.

Longevity Noodle Co.

Garlic Noodles

with Zesty Garlic Butter Sauce and Parmesan Cheese

These are a returning favorite. These have become a little boring to me as these aren’t any different from any other year. They are delicious if you want some noodles; however, I would get something else if you want something with a little more excitement. 8/10 rating.

Lucky 8 Lantern

Chocolate Firecracker

Light Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Ganache Filling, Chocolate Almond Dacquoise, and Popping Candy featuring Dove® Dark Chocolate

This is a new treat, and it is most definitely for chocolate lovers! It is indeed rich, decadent, and moist. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t seem to get much of the popping candy, as that is what makes this dessert really “pop.” Nonetheless, it is a great dessert addition to the festival! 9/10 rating.

Prosperity Bao & Buns

Red Panda Bao

Jumbo Pork and Vegetable Bao with Chile-Garlic Sauce

This is also a returning favorite, but it was my first time trying it. It’s a decent size, and the filling is yummy. The chile-garlic sauce really brings the flavor to a whole new level! Just be careful how much sauce you put in a bite because it has a bit of a kick! 9/10 rating.

Red Dragon Spice Traders

Fire Chicken Wings

with Sesame-Seaweed Crunch

These are new this year, and they were probably my favorite item. They don’t come with a lot of meat, but the tasting size comes with three, and the flavor is tasty and has a punch. If you’re really sensitive to spice, I would skip these. These won’t set your mouth on fire, but the spice level is enough to have you grabbing your beverage between bites. 9/10 rating.

Wrapped with Love

Phở Dip

with Rice Noodles, Sliced Beef, Shaved Jalapeños, Pickled Onions and Phở Broth

This is a new item this year and is a HUGE hit with guests already. You can’t go wrong with pho in a sandwich and dipping it in broth! This wasn’t my favorite thing that I ate, but it was tasty, and I would get it again. There was a sauce on the sandwich that wasn’t listed in the item description, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce mixed with the pho broth. Other than that, it is full of tasty and fresh ingredients. Don’t forget to put the basil leaves in the sandwich, as that really elevates all the flavors! 8/10 rating.
