When you have an upcoming trip planned to a theme park, it may be disappointing to see it will rain the day of your trip; however, a day in the rain isn’t so bad if you come prepared! We recently had a rainy day at the park, and it ended up being a blast! While rainy days in SoCal are scarce and few between, they still happen occasionally, so it’s best to be prepared! Bring a Poncho/Waterproof Gear
If you come dressed for success, the day will be especially fun! I went in rainboots and a rain jacket and managed to stay pretty dry. I recommend rain boots because if you wear shoes and socks, your socks will get wet, and you will likely be miserable all day (trust me, no one likes to walk around in wet socks all day!).
Indulge in Comfort Food
On a rainy day, comfort food will definitely hit the spot! Mel’s Diner, or our favorite, the Three Broomsticks, is a great place to eat. Of course, we also highly recommend a Hot Butterbeer from Hog’s Head! There’s nothing quite like strolling around Hogsmeade with a cup of warm butterscotch goodness when it’s cold and rainy!
Take Advantage of Little to No Wait Times For Character Meet and Greets
On rainy days, characters are still out for meet and greets! If there’s not an absolute downpour they will still stroll around the Upper Lot. If the rain is pretty heavy, they’ll take cover under a store overhang or covered spot. During our recent trip, there were plenty of characters that had NO lines!
