Here is the official word from the Disney World website:
From May 2024 through Spring 2025, some Guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will be under refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.
The updated rooms feature a more vibrant design, incorporating details inspired by New Orleans, “The Princess and the Frog,” and Mardi Gras. Notable changes include the replacement of the standard brown furniture with a blue dresser and headboards, as well as the addition of colorful wall designs and modern amenities like “Hey Disney” and multiple USB and USB-C outlets.
Despite the extended refurbishment, guests can still enjoy the recently renovated Doubloon Lagoon pool, Aquatic Play Area, and Mardi Grogs pool bar. These enhancements, completed earlier this year, offer a refreshing and immersive experience for guests of all ages.
