A little Disney magic made its way to AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, where Rapunzel surprised patients with a special princess party that brought joy and imagination into the hospital. The visit was coordinated by Disney in collaboration with AdventHealth for Children and Starlight Children’s Foundation, part of a longstanding effort to create meaningful moments for kids and families facing some of life’s toughest challenges. A Fairytale Celebration Filled with Courage and Creativity From the moment patients arrived, the celebration felt fit for royalty. Through Starlight Children’s Foundation, children received Disney Princess-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns inspired by beloved heroines who remind kids that bravery and strength come in many forms. Rapunzel greeted each young guest with warm hugs, plush toys, and plenty of imagination. Together, they decorated lanterns, colored their own masterpieces, and shared stories from Rapunzel’s adventures with Pascal, Maximus, and Flynn, turning hospital hallways into a tower filled with creativity, laughter, and possibility. “I love to see the joy and hearing her laugh,” said one patient’s dad, Edward. “This really gives her a chance to be a kid. It’s all part of the process of healing.” For many families, these moments offer a welcome reminder that joy and hope can shine through, even on the hardest days. Goofy’s Mystery Tour – this year dubbed Goofy’s Mystiki Tour – is a cast-only competition packed with challenging Disney trivia, brain teaser puzzles, and a dash of scavenger hunting, with about 300 teams competing in Disney’s Animal Kingdom after the park closes. I want to share why this event means so much to me and the very special person who makes it unforgettable every single year. Cast members from all lines of business can form a four-person team and compete. My team includes me, representing Walt Disney World communications, one of my good friends from EPCOT attractions, Disney Cruise Line communications and our clutch player, my mom, Janet! She flies in from Chicago every single year just to compete with us! I think everyone has that one childhood moment or memory that made them fall in love with Disney. Mine began with Disney on Broadway. Aladdin was one of the first shows that ignited my lifelong passion for theatre and storytelling, which led me to attend college and live in New York City, work on Broadway, and now be here as part of the Disney Parks Blog team. Live theatre unites, inspires, and captivates us in a way that no other form of entertainment does, and Disney on Broadway productions have that extra dose of special Disney magic. You may think that experiencing this joy requires a trip to New York City or waiting for a touring production to stop in your city, but there’s another place where your favorite stories and characters come to life onstage. Each year, EPCOT International Festival of the Arts allows guests to encounter the performing, visual, and culinary arts as part of one epic event.
