I’m a miniature maker as my main hobby, and I like to combine my love for miniatures with my passion for Disney (Here’s a link to some of my work on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Miniaturelandia). I’m especially interested in early Disneyland – the version of the park that Walt knew. For my next project, I am going to recreate Main Street U.S.A. as it appeared on opening day in large-scale miniature (1:12/dollhouse scale). This is extremely ambitious (and a bit crazy!), but this scale will allow incredible detail both inside and out. It will take many years, but the finished result will be truly one of a kind. Viewers will be transported back in time to view the Main Street that Walt knew up close and personal. I’m choosing to start with Main Street Station. It’s the perfect intro for this project. Naturally, I want these structures to be as accurate as possible. It is proving difficult, however, to track down quality blueprints and interior photos of the station. I’ve found one blueprint sheet that contains the main elevations, but I have searched in vain for a couple of years to find any other blueprint sheets. There is also a stark shortage of interior photos of the station as it appeared on opening day. I’ve scoured online resources including Yesterland and Daveland, but haven’t been able to track much down to go off of. I guess it makes sense that visitors back then wouldn’t want to waste film by
I’m planning my next trip for after Spring Break, before Summer next year. Things I know for sure, I will be using travel points for the hotel and air, flying into John Wayne and using the EVE shuttle from ART to get to my hotel (I’m traveling solo, this is definitely the cheapest transportation option I know of at $15 each way). I will be doing 5 days at Disneyland and DCA for sure, I want to have 2 full rest days, and one day of other sightseeing. Last year that day was at Universal but unfortunately I gained enough weight during the covid shutdowns that I have had trouble losing, that I can’t do most of the rides there (Mummy, and Potter were a No, Mario was a yes, but it was the only ride with a test seat that I attempted that was a yes). I’m considering the D23 Disney Studio tour then maybe dipping up to Universal Citywalk to see if they have anything I’d want to buy, plus maybe grab some voodoo donuts to bring back to the hotel. But, I don’t know how I would be getting to those places yet, I feel like uber/lyft would be way too expensive to justify, and public transportation would take too long to justify. Last year I used the Anaheim Tour Company to get to and from Universal, not sure if I could work a deal with them where I ride with a groups of folks
With Disneyland Forward appearing to start taking shape soon I was wondering if anyone has a solid list of the land Disney owns in the area. Like I know there was news earlier this year that they purchased the offsite parade warehouse they had been renting, and we know about Company D, I’ve also seen posts about them potentially owning some of the low housing land next to the Toy Story parking lot, and the Candy Cane Inn. With where they are putting Coco I assume at least some of the current backstage buildings might need to get moved offsite too(?) Also, so far Micecast is the only source I’ve heard mention this, but they said that Disney has plans to extend Downtown Disney into the current shuttle drop off area when the Eastern Gateway opens, so not just Avatar and the pedestrian bridge going in that plot of land but apparently more downtown Disney and maybe even a new hotel was what it sounded like.
As we continue our coverage of the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, we wanted to take a look at the prizes for this year’s Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit scavenger hunt. As a refresher, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is one of two scavenger hunts available during the 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. While Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak is available throughout the Festival, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is only available for a limited time during the Halloween season. Here’s some more info and a look at this year’s prizes! Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit 2025 Prizes Back for its fourth year in a row, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is a seasonal scavenger hunt available for a limited time at EPCOT. The specialty scavenger hunt debuted in 2022 as something extra to offer guests during the Halloween season, and it has returned every year since. Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit runs in tandem with Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt, with the latter being a World Showcase-centric hunt, and the former opening up the rest of the EPCOT theme park. We’ll have a closer look at each of the scavenger hunts in separate articles as we go out and find all of the hidden Remy’s and pumpkins. A 911 incident log obtained by BlogMickey.com offers our best look yet into the recent Walt Disney World ferryboat crash that took place late at night on July 30th. The new 911 call log and incident report provide insight into the traumatic injuries that guests sustained during the “hard landing” around 11:40pm. Here’s what we learned. Walt Disney World Ferryboat Crash Leads to Dozens of Injuries We’ve previously covered the ferryboat incident, but we had to rely on some firsthand reports from the perspective of guests on the boat. While useful to provide the perspective of a single guest, we have been working to provide a more complete report of the incident that reportedly led to more than a dozen injuries. As previously reported, the incident took place late at night on July 30th. New call logs obtained by BlogMickey.com show that the first 911 call was received at 11:40pm. Within 2 minutes, first responders were en route to the Transportation & Ticket Center. According to the logs, the first unit arrived at 1240 Seven Seas Drive within 2.5 minutes of being assigned. An earlier report cited guests on the ferryboat who said that there were difficult conditions, such as heavy rain, when the incident occurred. Photos from the scene did show evidence that it had been raining recently. The incident log doesn’t describe the weather conditions at the time of the incident, and requests to Walt Disney World about the incident have not been
