It’s that time of year again—Halloween Horror Nights is back at Universal Studios Florida, and it’s bigger, scarier, and more exciting than ever. Whether you’re a seasoned HHN fan or planning your very first trip, here’s your guide to making the most out of this year’s event.

Haunted Houses
The star of the show every year is the haunted houses, and this year’s lineup does not disappoint. Guests can look forward to 10 highly themed houses, each designed with incredible detail, spine-chilling scares, and storylines that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a horror movie. From original Universal creations to houses inspired by popular horror franchises, there’s something to terrify every type of guest.
Haunted Houses Highlights
-
Five Nights at Freddy’s
Step into Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, complete with life-sized animatronic recreations of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Cupcake—designed by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. -
Terrifier
Inspired by the cult horror series, this house is a sensory overload—expect warm water splashes, blood-like scents, and some gruesome new kills by Art the Clown. -
Jason Universe
A terrifying journey through Camp Crystal Lake, filled with multiple Jasons from the entire film saga as you navigate his lair and haunted woods. -

WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks
A chilling tribute to Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Sicks. You’ll pass through video tunnels and encounter iconic WWE-era visuals—including The Fiend and the lantern from his infamous Firefly Funhouse. -
El Artista: A Spanish Haunting
Set in 19th-century Spain, this original house is haunted by a tortured painter whose subjects come alive through supernatural, ethereal effects. -
Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters
In an Old West town overrun by lava demons, your only refuge is the quickly vanishing protection of the demon-hunting duo Hatchet and Chains. -
Dolls: Let’s Play Dead
Shrink down to doll-size in this twisted world where burned fashion dolls and toys stalk you inside a creepy Victorian dollhouse. -
Grave of Flesh
Start in a funeral setting, then descend into the underworld, where flesh-eating creatures pursue you through an endless labyrinth. -
Gálkn: Monsters of the North
From the frigid fjords, winged, horned, and wolfish monsters emerge, growing into a massive horror inside the belly of the beast.
Specialty Food & Drinks
The food at HHN has become an experience in itself. Every year, Universal introduces a special menu of spooky snacks and themed drinks that are exclusive to the event. Expect over-the-top desserts, creepy cocktails, and savory bites inspired by the houses and scare zones. Foodies, this is the perfect time to eat your way through the fog.

Event Hours & Entry
Halloween Horror Nights takes place on select nights from September through early November. The event officially begins at 6:30 PM, but if you already have a daytime park ticket, you can use a Stay & Scream pass to secure your spot early. Guests with Stay & Scream are allowed into designated holding areas before the event starts, giving you a head start on the houses.
Rides Open During HHN
While the houses are the main attraction, some of Universal Studios Florida’s most popular rides stay open during HHN. You can hop on favorites like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Revenge of the Mummy, Transformers: The Ride 3D, and more—usually with shorter wait times since most guests are focused on the houses.
Upgrade Your Night: Express Pass & RIP Tour
Want to make sure you don’t miss anything? The HHN Express Pass allows you to skip the regular lines at all houses and rides once per night. If you’re planning to see and do everything, it’s worth the splurge.
For the ultimate experience, consider booking the RIP Tour, a guided tour that takes you through the event with priority access to every house, scare zone, and ride. Plus, your guide shares insider tips and behind-the-scenes details that make the night even more special.
Maximize Your Time: Stay at a Universal Resort
For the ultimate Halloween Horror Nights experience, consider staying at one of Universal Orlando’s on-site resorts. Not only does it keep you close to the action (so you can easily head back after a long night in the fog), but it also allows you to enjoy all three Universal Orlando theme parks during the day—including Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay—before braving HHN at night. Staying on-site means you’ll also get perks like early park admission and free transportation to the parks. Use a complimentary Academy Travel agent to book your stay today!
Final Tips
- Arrive early and have a game plan for which houses you want to hit first.
- Wear comfortable shoes—you’ll be walking (and running from scares) all night.
- Don’t skip the specialty food booths.
- If you really want to maximize your time, invest in Express or RIP.
Halloween Horror Nights is one of Orlando’s most anticipated events every year, and 2025 is shaping up to be unforgettable. See you in the fog!
