Multiple, and reliable, sources are indicating that a new stage show is coming to the Hyperion Theatre. For one, I’m thrilled the theatre is not being demolished. And two, if this news is true, then I’m even more thrilled. Apparently, Disney is in talk to create a new Broadway style show, but nothing concrete is being mentioned on what type of show it would be at this time. Personally, I would love to see a version of Disney’s “Hercules” shown there. The music is awesome, you have the wise-cracking Hades for comic relief, and of course, there’s Hercules and Meg. Plus, think of the exciting dance numbers that could be choreographed. The show would be pure entertainment!! Disney has already shown us that can do it well with Aladdin and Frozen, so why not Hercules next?
And who knows, with this (possible) news, perhaps we’ll finally get a real show on the Fantasyland Theatre, as well. Fingers crossed.
Here’s hoping 2026 will be a year with new, quality entertainment on these stages. Heck, they might as well create something on the Golden Horseshoe stage, while they’re at it.
Come on, Disney, give us back what’s been missing for so long!
