The wait is over. Two NEW shows are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and they just got an opening date. They will be debuting on the SAME DAY! On May 27, 2025, both “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” will be opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
These new shows will be replacing previous shows. Here’s some more details about each show…
DISNEY VILLAINS: UNFAIRLY EVER AFTER

If you’re a Disney Villains fan, then this show will be for you! It’ll feature appearances by dozens of Disney villains including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Maleficent and many more. It’s a spellbinding show with moving music and a most memorable finale—where you help decide who has been treated most unfairly. This show will replace “Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy”, located in Sunset Showcase on Sunset Boulevard, which closed in October 2024.
THE LITTLE MERMAID – A MUSICAL ADVENTURE

We can’t wait for this show! The new adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” will feature puppets, digital characters, and more. Disney has stated that the show will “feature stunning new set pieces, cutting-edge effects, and a bold new design that captures Ariel’s imagination and emotions through her unique view of the world around her.” Located in Animation Courtyard, this show replaces the “Voyage of the Little Mermaid”, which closed in 2020. This new show will also feature the same songs as its predecessor, plus a new song called “Daughters of Triton.”
May 27 will be a historic day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
