This week, Disney’s Animal Kingdom welcomed its newest animal to their park: Bakso the tiger! This sumatran tiger cub made his debut and broke the internet when the news of his arrival became public. This news made our week! Whenever a new animal arrives at Animal Kingdom, it warms our hearts!
WHERE CAN I SEE BAKSO?
You can find Bakso and his mother Sohni at the Maharajah Jungle Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! The Mahajarah Jungle Trek is a walking trail where you can see a plethora of animals. Cross towering footbridges, roam around jungle bends, behold cascading waterfalls and stand in the shadow of a palace frozen in time. You’ll also be able to hop into a chirping aviary where over 50 species of birds soar free. In addition to the tigers, you may encounter: Gibbons, Elds deer, Blackbuck, Komodo dragon, Malayan flying fox, Water buffalo, and over 50 species of birds!

WHEN CAN I SEE BAKSO?
The Maharajah Jungle Trek is open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. His time on the trail will vary based on his needs and natural rhythms, so just make sure to talk with a cast member before you walk the trek!

With fewer than 600 Sumatran tigers remaining in the wild and in managed care, Bakso is a beacon of hope for this dwindling species and represents incredible efforts made in partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Species Survival Plan (SSP) to bolster endangered and threatened species populations.
