One of Disney Cruise Line’s classic towel animals is the star of a new Castaway Club commercial.

Disney Cruise Line Towel Animal Ad

A towel animal folded into the shape of an elephant with a black hat sits on a bed in a hotel room, just like you might find on a Disney Cruise Line. A remote control lies nearby, and wall art decorates the background, setting a whimsical scene worthy of any Castaway Club member's delight.

Castaway Club is Disney Cruise Line’s membership program for returning cruisers. Disney Cruise Line is known for the origami towel animals their crew members create and display in staterooms.

A plush toy wearing a red hood and purple outfit sits in a blue container beside a creatively folded towel animal, reminiscent of the whimsy you'd find aboard Disney Cruise Line adventures.

In the commercial below, a towel dog (wearing a Mickey ear hat) awaits the return of its Castaway Club “Family.” Crew members try to cheer up the sad dog by letting it play around the ship. They create a napkin hat for the dog in 1923. The dog gets to play with “The Little Mermaid” costumes, even re-creating a famous Ariel moment. The dog also takes a trip down a waterslide. It returns to the stateroom just in time for its family to arrive for their sailing.

Last year, Disney Cruise Line began selling plush versions of the towel animals.
