This year marks the 50th anniversary of Space Mountain at Walt Disney World and two new limited edition pins are available to commemorate the milestone.
We found these pins in the Emporium at Magic Kingdom.
Mickey Space Mountain Pin – $22.99
This pin features Mickey seated in a Space Mountain rocket headed into the star tunnel with his head turned to the side. A red light at the back of the rocket has the text “50 Years.” Beneath the rocket is the Space Mountain structure and logo.
Donald and Goofy Space Mountain Pin – $22.99
This Annual Passholder-exclusive pin features Donald and Goofy inside a Space Mountain rocket with frightened expressions. The Space Mountain structure and logo are to the left on a blue background with “Passholder” in red below and “50 Years” written above. Stars and planets surround the logo.
Space Mountain opened on January 15, 1975. The indoor rollercoaster takes guests careening through the stars in the dark as a futuristic soundtrack echoes all around. Guest fly past shooting stars, satellites, and streaking orbs of light on their trip through the cosmos.
You can join WDWNT and many former Imagineers in celebrating 50 years of Space Mountain and Magic Kingdom’s New Tomorrowland by attending our event, Promising Tomorrows, either in-person or virtually from January 15-17.
