The “controversy” over Walt’s wishes that he not ever become an animatronic figure ignores some big elephants in the room. While those were clearly his wishes (and his family should have been consulted), why is this the hill too far compared to all his other wishes broken?

Non-family entertainment, adult R-rated movies, sequels and remakes of his classics, warning labels on his films, price-gouging and schemes to pick the pockets of park guests, socio-political content, mergers with networks and other studios, money over creativity, a decrepit Tomorrowland, sweeping away of nostalgia, unavailability of much of his film library… I think if Walt were to come back he would have much bigger concerns about the state of the studio he left behind than becoming a tribute animatronic.
