Tickets sales will begin this month, with Epic Universe opening in May
Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced that the much-anticipated Epic Universe theme park will open to guests on May 22, 2025, with sales of multi-day tickets and packages starting on October 22! This exciting news comes shortly after a Wall Street Journal article hinted at a pre-Memorial Day opening, citing “sources familiar” with the park’s development plans. Now, with confirmation from Universal itself, fans can mark their calendars and begin planning their next great adventure at what promises to be a groundbreaking addition to the theme park landscape.

The timeline for Epic Universe’s opening is particularly impressive—construction began in March 2021, and Universal is on track to deliver a brand-new, massive theme park in just over four years. Epic Universe will feature five immersive themed lands, each with unique attractions, dining experiences, and entertainment offerings, inviting guests to explore worlds like never before:
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
— Ministry of Magic: Step into the wizarding world like never before, starting in 1920s Paris, where you’ll encounter fantastic beasts, and then travel through the Métro-Floo system to the British Ministry of Magic in the 1990s. Once inside the Ministry, you will experience an epic attraction as you help ensure Dolores Umbridge finally answers for her crimes in the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry attraction. - SUPER NINTENDO WORLD: Dive into the vibrant and colorful realms of Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country. Universal’s creative team has developed an array of interactive rides and attractions that immerse guests in Nintendo’s beloved gaming universe. Whether you’re racing through Mario Kart or exploring the mysteries of Donkey Kong’s jungle, this land promises endless fun for all ages (a Donkey Kong coaster that skips the track-count us in!)
- How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: Based on the beloved How to Train Your Dragon films, this land will transport guests to the Viking village of Berk. Highlights include a thrilling roller coaster that takes you on a ride through the skies with dragons, a live stage show, and a dragon racing trainer attraction. With flying dragons and fire-breathing fun, this land offers excitement for the whole family.
- Dark Universe: Enter a shadowy world where Universal’s Classic Monsters come to life like never before. Dark Universe will feature groundbreaking attractions that pay homage to iconic creatures such as Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Mummy. This land will feature Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment which promises to be the most spine-chilling attraction Universal has ever built!
- Celestial Park: At the center of Epic Universe lies Celestial Park, a cosmic and lush landscape filled with tree-lined walkways, dancing fountains, and otherworldly wonders. This land will serve as a tranquil, sensory-filled oasis, offering guests a journey through the stars, with plenty of surprises hidden among its natural beauty. We cannot wait to hop aboard the Stardust Racers and race through the Cosmos.
In addition to the new park, Universal Orlando will also be unveiling three new hotels to complement the Epic Universe experience. Each hotel offers its own distinct theme and style:
- Universal Helios Grand Hotel, opening in 2025, will offer stunning views of Epic Universe, with elegant Mediterranean-inspired design and celestial touches. Bookings for Helios Grand Hotel will also begin as Epic Universe tickets go on sale.
- Universal Stella Nova Resort, debuting on January 21, 2025, invites guests to embrace their adventurous spirit in a resort inspired by the mysteries of the cosmos.
- Universal Terra Luna Resort, set to open on February 25, 2025, will provide guests with a unique way to experience Universal Orlando, blending luxury accommodations with a sense of exploration.
Guests staying at any of the Epic Universe hotels will enjoy convenient, free transportation between the hotels and the rest of Universal Orlando Resort, making it easier than ever to explore everything the resort has to offer.
Tickets for Epic Universe will initially be available as part of 3, 4, or 5 day ticket options, with each ticket including one day at Epic Universe. This strategy will help Universal control the crowds at what is sure to be an incredibly popular theme park destination for years to come.
