After one year at the Magic Kingdom, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure recently suffered a meltdown, forcing the attraction to shut down with dozens of riders on board.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure first opened at Walt Disney World Resort in June 2024, and Disneyland Resort’s version followed in November. The retheme transformed the Song of the South (1946) themed Splash Mountain into a Princess and the Frog (2009) inspired musical adventure. Guests join the original voices of Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley), and Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis) for an unforgettable, New Orleans-style celebration.

The Frontierland attraction experienced several issues in its first weeks of operation, leading to the cancellation of several Disney cast member and Annual Passholder previews. Walt Disney Imagineers reportedly continued tweaking the log flume ride after it opened, and it seems to experience less downtime these days. However, like any Disney Park attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure doesn’t have a perfect record.
TikTok user @kaelynalex recently shared a video of her party stuck on the Magic Kingdom Park attraction after a long day at the Disney park. The pair “ran” to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at the end of the night, hoping for one more ride. They made it there at the “last minute,” but ended up stuck near a motionless Princess Tiana animatronic on the attraction’s first lift hill.

After a while, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure started moving again, and an evacuation wasn’t necessary. The rest of the video showed the attraction operating normally without further delays.
Nevertheless, the TikToker described the experience as “a very fun way to end the night.”

Walt Disney World Resort rarely publicizes the reasons for minor attraction issues like this one. While it’s unclear what caused the brief shutdown, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure started working again and was operating normally at the time of this article’s publication.
