Planning is essential for a successful Disney Parks vacation. Right now, thousands of families are saving and scheming for 2026 visits to Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney Parks locations worldwide. But Central Florida Disney Park guests should note that two popular planning options aren’t rolling into next year.
Virtual Queues

Over the last five years, Virtual Queues have become part of the Disney Park experience. Almost every new attraction used them, including TRON Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests would have to log into the My Disney Experience app at 7:00 a.m. and fight for a slot. Those who failed had to hope for availability at 1:00 p.m. during drops only available for those already inside the park.
As demand dropped, Walt Disney World Resort slowly removed Virtual Queues for rides. On February 25, 2025, the final two Virtual Queues disappeared from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. Guests must use standby queues or purchase a Lightning Lane to access these attractions.

Walt Disney World Resort may bring back the Virtual Queue system when new attractions open, like in the Pueblo Esperanza area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and the Disney Villains land at Magic Kingdom Park. But with those expansions not expected until 2027 at the earliest, it’s looking like Virtual Queue planning won’t be part of Walt Disney World Resort vacations in 2026.
Family-Friendly Dining at EPCOT
EPCOT has something for everyone. Adults can Drink Around the World, while guests of all ages can try international food and nonalcoholic beverages. But a new EPCOT dining location won’t welcome every member of the family.

On June 4, 2025, the Spaceship Earth-themed GEO-82 lounge will open in the World Celebration neighborhood at EPCOT. This luxurious bar will offer small plates, like the Truffled Ahi Tuna and the Jumbo Lump Crab Gâteau, and craft cocktails, like Brown Butter Old Fashioned and the Clarified New York Sour.
Advanced reservations are highly recommended and available up to 60 days before your visit. However, only guests 21+ are welcome at the GEO-82 lounge, making it one of the only non-family-friendly spaces at Walt Disney World Resort. Starting next month, travelers will have to consider whether their plans include everyone in their party.
