A guest’s recent discovery inside their Walt Disney World hotel room has gone viral.

Every day, thousands of guests enter the Disney theme parks in the hopes of having a magical day. Whether guests are visiting Disneyland in California or Walt Disney World in Florida, they can guarantee they will find some of the world’s best-themed rides, attractions, restaurants, and other experiences.
However, even the Disney theme parks are not totally immune to problems, with one guest’s recent hotel room discovery going viral on social media.

Reddit user Inevitable-Rough9028’s recent stay at Walt Disney World has people talking for all the wrong reasons. Several photos reveal what appears to be feces covering their hotel room. The guest was staying at Disney’s Riviera, one of the resort’s newer and more expensive hotels.
The guest snapped several photos of their room, showing that not only did the shower curtain have traces of feces on it, but so did the walls.
“We just checked into the Riviera Resort at Disney,” explained the guest, “and there was literal human waste smeared on the shower walls. We’ve been Disney fans and DVC members since the 90s, but this has completely ruined our experience.”
The guest explained that they tried to get into a different room but were denied. “To make matters worse, they won’t move us to another room until tomorrow, so we were stuck here close to midnight while the cleaning staff is trying to “clean up” the situation.”
According to the guest, Disney World crews came in to clean up the mess but denied that it was human excrement, claiming it was just “shampoo.”

The Riviera is one of the dozens of hotels at Walt Disney World, with the resort featuring both luxurious suites and more budget-friendly rooms. Perhaps the most famous of Disney World’s many hotels is the Contemporary, which serves not only as a great place to stay, but an icon of the resort itself.
However, the Riviera has become a popular spot for many, especially given its connection to the Walt Disney World Skyliner transportation system.
This is certainly an unfortunate situation regardless of what the mess actually was and is the last thing guests would think to see when planning a trip to “The Most Magical Place on Earth.” However, given just how many travelers visit Walt Disney World, issues are bound to happen from time to time.
Another incident involving human waste recently went viral, this time in the queue line for one of Disney World’s most popular attractions. Earlier this month, a TikTok was shared, revealing an accident had taken place in the queue line for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, leaving human waste smeared along the floor and walls.
It’s unclear how exactly this situation unfolded, but dozens of guests were exposed to the mess before either eventually got cleared up.
