A law enforcement helicopter was spotted circling the skies over Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge on Tuesday. A Walt Disney World Resort guest shared a video of the aircraft, writing that it seemed to be looking for something…or someone.
On May 21, Reddit user u/vinnyvencenzo shared a video of the sheriff’s helicopter circling near the pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House. “Was hanging out at AKL Jambo pool and the sheriffs helicopter was circling around at 500ft for a while, like they were looking for something or someone,” the Walt Disney World Resort guest wrote. “Anyone know what was going down?”

“The way they were circling…it seemed like they were looking for someone around the property and parking lot,” the Redditor added in a comment.
Although some Disney Parks fans suggested the helicopter was actually circling U.S. Route 192 behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the guest was insistent that the helicopter’s pattern suggested police activity on Walt Disney World Resort property.
Neither Walt Disney World Resort nor the Orange County Sheriff’s Department issued a public statement about the incident. However, someone claiming to be in the area at the time said two suspects reportedly fled from law enforcement and drove onto Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge property before being apprehended.
“A couple of people ran from the Orange County [Sheriff’s Office] and were dumb enough to drive into AKL,” u/SeriousStrokes69 alleged. “They [ended] up in the bus loop at Kidani, which of course is as far as you can go. Anyway, the two were caught and arrested.”
Inside the Magic was unable to confirm this report. There appeared to be no law enforcement activity near Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge as of Wednesday afternoon.
