Walt Disney World Resort has announced that Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf will be undergoing refurbishment beginning next month. Here’s what Disney Park guests need to know.
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf opened at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel in 1996. Walt Disney World Resort introduced another mini golf course, Disney’s Winter Summerland, three years later. Between the two, more than 450,000 Central Florida Disney Park guests play miniature golf each year.

Inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Fantasia (1940), Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf features two distinct courses. The Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course is perfect for families and beginner golfers, with five scenes featuring familiar characters like the dancing hippos, pirouetting ostriches, and Mickey Mouse’s marching broomsticks.
Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf Course is a true miniature version of a traditional golf course. Unlike most mini golf courses, it features sand traps, sloping greens, water hazards, and bunkers that emphasize skill over chance. Golfers can enjoy a glimpse at the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels in the background.
Walt Disney World Resort has announced that Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf will be undergoing refurbishment from September 9 to October 24, 2025. During this time, Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf will be closed, but Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will remain open. However, guests will be unable to reserve tee times and must tee off on a first-come, first-served basis.

From September 9 to September 23, 2025, Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will open at noon instead of 10:00 a.m. Beginning September 24, it will return to its regular operating hours.
Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf will reopen to Walt Disney World Resort guests on October 25, 2025. Disney has yet to share any details about the refurbishment.
