We’re only a few weeks into summer, and the usual crowds just aren’t coming to Walt Disney World Resort. Countless guests have shared their experiences with declining crowd levels at the Central Florida Disney parks, blaming everything from the hot weather to Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe, which opened last month.
Whatever the reason for declining crowd levels, the guest reports are clear. Last week, an EPCOT guest shared yet another video of a nearly empty walkway at the park during the middle of the day, when you’d expect to see the hustle and bustle of thousands of families on summer vacation.
“When even the Disney tourists can’t handle the Florida heat,” @millennial_mom3 wrote. “…At least we didn’t wait for anything.”

The video showed just a few families walking between the World Celebration neighborhood and the Mexico World Showcase Pavilion. Typically, this area would be awash with crowds rushing between popular EPCOT attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Frozen Ever After.
In the comments, several Central Florida Disney Park guests shared similar experiences with the crowd levels at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
“All weekend we had 10-20 mins wait even for tron and Tiana’s bayou,” said @missbrunettee1. “Hollywood [Studios] was dead.”
“Waited 15 mins for [Rise of the Resistance] and Tiana was a walk on during fireworks,” @major.flopera replied.
“SOARIN was 10 min for most of the day and that’s so rare!” @alannakettel recalled.
Some guests even saved big on Deluxe Disney Resort hotels.
“I was wondering why I got a $400 Grand Flo reservation for next Saturday,” @thecurrentadventure wrote.
Like the TikToker, many Disney Parks fans said the heat kept guests away.
“It’s horrible right now, feels like Arizona in the summer,” @patsy4178 said.
“Even as a local the heat still packs a kick,” @_matt_x6 agreed.
Still, others said crowds chose Epic Universe over the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.
“It ain’t the heat,” @studio6126 “Everyone is at EPIC.”
“Also everyone’s been going to Epic universe in universal.. so its been PACKED there,” said @la.worzys.
