It seems hard to believe, but it’s been six years since Disneyland guests were taken to a galaxy far, far away, with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge behind Frontierland in Disneyland Park. The new land took guests to Batuu — a remote desert planet that was once a thriving cosmopolitan, but is now a hub for smugglers and rogue traders, your everyday scum and villainy.
On Batuu, guests can board the legendary Millennium Falcon and aid Hondo Ohnaka in obtaining coaxium. You can also dine on delicious and unique food at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, and even drink the famous Blue Milk.

However, the highlight of the area by far is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. On this immersive and exciting attraction, guests are taken captive by the First Order, but must help defeat Kylo Ren as they try to escape his Star Destroyer. The ride is full of exciting scenes, incredible effects, and an exciting drop that will put your stomach in your throat.
At the beginning of the attraction, guests are escorted into a room, where they are told by Rey that their outpost on Batuu is no longer safe. Poe Dameron is called in and guests are brought onto their own ship.
That’s when everything goes away and hits the fan.

It’s always exciting when a ride is immersive, and seeing Poe Dameron and Rey tell you what is going to happen really gets you into the spirit.
Sadly, one guest ruined the immersive experience for everyone else, and now, social media is calling them out.
TheDisneyScoopGuy shared a video on Reddit, asking people if they could spot what was wrong with the video. The scene being filmed is the Poe Dameron scene.
Suddenly, a camera pops up on what looks like a selfie stick. The camera moves as the person keeps filming, being a complete nuisance to the people standing behind them.
See if you can spot the issue here…

Commenters were quick to attack the person filming. They were shocked that someone could be so inconsiderate of the people around them.
Many people said that the camera looked like it was on a selfie stick, and it should be noted that selfie sticks are banned at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. However, certain tripods are still allowed in the parks.
Selfie sticks are banned from the parks, aren’t they? Doesn’t this count? If I remember right, it’s a safety issue because there are injuries when people decide it’s a bright idea to use them during rides, and they had an injury because someone decided to use it on Big Thunder Mountain.

Others shared their own struggles with bloggers. One commenter said that their daughter’s first time on Space Mountain was ruined because someone filmed the entire ride and left their flash on.
Multiple commenters said that when that happens, guests should loudly yell that the camera is in the way and tell the person to lower their camera. That might be the best advice for a situation like that.
The OP (Original Poster) was also encouraged to speak to a cast member about the situation. Cast members don’t like guests ruining the experience as much as other guests. So, if you speak to a cast member about a problematic guest, they might be able to help.
Have you ever experienced a situation like this? What would you have done if you were the OP and had to deal with this? Should Disney remove these guests from the park? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
