Fans of Pixar magic may want to catch Disney California Adventure’s high-energy parade Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! while they still can. A new update to Disneyland Resort’s entertainment schedule suggests that the popular daytime offering will go on hiatus beginning August 4, 2025, just months after its return for the Disneyland 70th anniversary.

A Short-Lived Comeback

Better Together first rolled out as part of Pixar Fest 2024, celebrating beloved characters from Toy Story, Inside Out, Up, Luca, and more. After a brief absence, the colorful cavalcade made its grand return on May 16, 2025, coinciding with the kickoff of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebrations. Since then, the parade has performed daily at 2:30 p.m.and 5:00 p.m., energizing guests with catchy music and larger-than-life floats featuring characters like Joy, Miguel, Dug, Mei Lee, and the Incredibles.

But now, it seems that return may be short-lived.

Schedule Changes Spark Pause Rumors

As of today, no parade times are listed on or after August 4 on the Disneyland website’s entertainment schedule. The last confirmed performance date is Sunday, August 3. Similarly, bookings for the Pixar Pals Dessert Party—a reserved viewing and treat-filled add-on for parade-goers—also stop on August 3.

While Disney has yet to make an official announcement, the entertainment schedule changes strongly indicate the parade will pause starting that week. This mirrors last year’s Pixar Fest calendar, when Better Together also concluded its summer run on August 4, 2024.

Making Room for Halloween and Holiday Magic

The likely reason for the parade’s pause? Seasonal overlays and hard-ticket events are just around the corner.

Disney California Adventure will soon begin preparing for its fan-favorite Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween parties, with the first event slated for August 17. Entertainment shifts typically begin well before the start of these after-hours events to allow for staging, rehearsals, and transitions. It’s common for day parades and nighttime spectaculars to pause temporarily to make way for Halloween- and Christmas-specific programming.

Adding fuel to the fire, Disney has already opened up Oogie Boogie Bash ticket sales, and several nights are already sold out. New for 2025, guests can also book an Oogie Boogie Bash VIP Tour, making the event more exclusive than ever before.

So, What About Wondrous Journeys?

In addition to Better Together, the Wondrous Journeys nighttime fireworks show is also expected to take a seasonal break. For now, it remains listed on the Disneyland calendar with nightly performances at 9:35 p.m. through August 9—but no dates are visible beyond that point.

Disney has confirmed that both shows are only “pausing” and are expected to return after the seasonal entertainment concludes. However, no specific return date has been given, leaving some fans wondering whether the pause might be longer than usual or tied to a future entertainment update.

Catch It While You Can

Whether you’re a fan of Pixar’s joyful characters or just love a good parade, this may be your last chance in 2025 to catch Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! in action before it rolls away for the season. With the final listed performance on August 3, time is ticking for those hoping to catch Joy, Mei Lee, and the rest of the Pixar crew before Halloween haunts take over.

Stay tuned for official confirmation and future updates as Disney reveals more about its seasonal entertainment schedule and when these fan-favorite offerings will return to the parade route.
