Disneyland Resort’s version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure recently had to temporarily suspend operations after a man stood up mid-ride, endangering the other guests in his log.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Bayou Country at Disneyland Park in November 2024. The Princess and the Frog (2009) retheme of the former Splash Mountain takes guests on the same log flume track, culminating in the original 50-foot drop. However, instead of being characters from the controversial Song of the South (1946), the attraction invites guests to help Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) and her friends gather musicians for a New Orleans-style celebration.

Unfortunately, several riders’ journey through the Louisiana Bayou was paused this weekend when a man stood up mid-ride to make his friends laugh. On Sunday, TikTok user @mainstreetmagia shared a video of the man climbing out of his seat:
@mainstreetmagia Grown man btw!

Thanks to hidden security cameras, Disney cast members noticed the man within seconds. A Disneyland Resort employee sternly told the man to “sit down” over the attraction’s PA system. Unfortunately, the man ignored the Disney cast member’s instruction for long enough that they stopped the ride.
When the ride stopped moving, the man sat back down. However, as his party members recorded him and laughed, he briefly attempted to stand up again.

After Disney cast members emergency-stopped Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, they had to evacuate everyone from the ride in order to reset the system–all because of one guest.
Disney Parks fans were outraged by this “grown man’s” behavior. Some pointed out how dangerous the guest’s actions were, noting that he could’ve tipped or flipped the log over.
“Not only is this dangerous for the person, it could also unbalance the weight in the log and make it tip over bc no one else is standing,” @_princess_courtney_ commented.

“I will never understand why people pay all that money just to earn a life time ban!!” @biancacazares764 replied. “Rules are there for a reason.”
Many commenters, including former Disney cast members, called for Disneyland Resort to kick the entire party out.
“Good way to get banned from Disney,” @melaniexarteaga wrote.

“Used to work for a manager who had the best way to handle the aftermath,” said @jasenplus. “She’d pull the person away from their group and over to the ‘no standing’ sign and point at it and explain that their day in the park is done. Then she’d point to the rest of the group and say, “and now since you have to leave their day in the park is probably over too, because you couldn’t follow this simple safety instruction.” Then she’d hand them to security to be escorted off property. Grown men in tears.”
Others cited this incident as an example of increasingly inappropriate guest behavior at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.

“I HATE the main character syndrome that plagues so many these days,” @jennifermosserpsu commented.
“I’ve never been to any Disney theme park, but looked into the prices. How in the world do these people afford those trips there and then act like this???” @allison__kate asked. “Why even risk it after spending so much money there???”
Disneyland Resort didn’t issue a public statement about this incident, and it’s unclear whether consequences were issued to the guests involved. However, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure eventually reopened and was operating normally at the time of this article’s publication.
