Those looking to stock up on a special holiday treat at Disneyland are out of luck, as the California theme park resort has placed restrictions on its $7.49 Mickey Mouse-shaped gingerbread cookies. These limited-time treats are a holiday staple for guests visiting the Disneyland Resort on or around Christmas, but their popularity is a double-edged sword, with Disney deciding to limit the sale of these cookies to five per person.

While guests can certainly get creative with how they choose to purchase the cookies to get around this limitation, Disneyland will also be temporarily suspending mobile ordering as a way to keep the cookies from selling out.

These recitations have inspired some to take action, with guests traveling around the resort to place their order of Mickey Mouse-shaped gingerbread cookies. Not only can guests find the cookies inside the parks, but they are also offered at the Grand Californian Hotel. This is one of the most luxurious and breathtaking locations at the Disneyland Resort, and the cookies are priced accordingly, retailing for $10 each instead of $7.49.

Limited-time holiday merchandise and food are nothing new for the Disney theme parks, which concoct special treats year-round. Guests visiting for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and even Easter can enjoy delicious desserts and refreshing drinks, both alcoholic and non, though Christmas really is one of the most magical times of the year to take a trip to either Disneyland or Disney World.

“It’s literally Christmas in a cookie,” said Disneyland fan Tiffany Calderon. According to SFGATE, Calderon said her family visits Disneyland multiple times a year, making Mickey gingerbread cookies a top priortiy during their trips. “It feels like home,” she added. “Just cuddling up on a couch, watching some Christmas movies, getting a gingerbread cookie out and just — small bites, make it last. Make it linger.”

Gingerbread is a big deal on the East Coast as well, with Walt Disney World constructing a massive house made out of the Christmas dessert each year at its Grand Floridian Resort. Guests eagerly look forward to the holidays as Disney unveils its creation, which is located in the hotel’s lobby.

As stated earlier, Christmas brings in a slurry of limited-time treats. Guests visiting Walt Disney World can take part in the resort’s newest event, Jollywood Nights, for a spectacular, Hollywood-inspired party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The event features exclusive food, ranging from sweet treats to stiff drinks, shows, and even ice skating. Just like the gingerbread cookies, Jollywood Nights was quite hard to get into, with most dates selling out weeks in advance.
