Weeks after reports that Disney Cruise Line is planning to increase its presence in Galveston, Texas, the Mouse is officially advertising sailings to Disney Parks fans.
Disney Cruise Line first entered the Lone Star State with sailings out of Galveston in 2012. Historically, the Texas port has been a seasonal home for the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, and other ships, offering trips to the Caribbean and Bahamas during select times throughout the year. While offerings remain limited, a recent report from the Galveston County Daily News suggests that Disney Cruise Line is planning to sail out of Galveston full-time beginning in 2027.

Disney Cruise Line is rapidly expanding its fleet of ships, with the newest addition, the Disney Treasure, setting sail last year. Upcoming vessels include Disney Adventure, Disney Destiny, and five unnamed ships expected to embark on maiden voyages by 2031. As Florida ports become increasingly crowded, Disney Cruise Line is allegedly seeking full-time status in Texas.
On Tuesday, Disney Cruise Line sent a marketing email to countless theme park fans, encouraging them to look into a trip out of Galveston, Texas.
“Something’s sailing into Texas…,” the marketing email began. “Let the magic come to you in Galveston, Texas! What if you could take a moment and relax for a little bit? Just sit back and have some fun? Well, now it’s possible because the magic of Disney is closer than you imagine. Disney Cruise Line is sailing from Galveston, Texas to give you an enchanting vacation that’s just a short journey away.”

The email doesn’t mention plans to sail full-time out of Galveston in 2027. However, Disney Cruise Line’s website still states that Texas sailings are “available for a limited time only.” Current sailings include stops in Cozumel, Mexico, Progreso, Mexico, and Grand Cayman Island. Four-to-seven-night voyages are available out of Galveston, including themed and seasonal offerings like the Very Merrytime Cruises and Marvel Day at Sea.
