Walt Disney Studios has released the full trailer for the live-action Lilo & Stitch (2025), crashing into theaters on May 23, 2025.

Initial teasers for the remake of the 2002 Walt Disney Animation Studios film featured tributes to the original ad campaign, with Stitch crashing into other animated classics and eventually running onto the field before the Super Bowl. On March 12, Walt Disney Studios premiered the full trailer for the film.

Chris Sanders returns to voice Stitch alongside newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp of Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (2021), the film also stars Sydney Agudong (Nani Pelekai), Zach Galifianakis (Dr. Jumba Jookiba), Billy Magnussen (Agent Pleakley), Kaipo Dudoit (David Kawena), Courtney B. Vance (Cobra Bubbles), Hannah Waddingham (the Grand Councilwoman), and Amy Hill  (Tūtū).

Two other original Lilo & Stitch (2002) cast members returned for cameos in the live-action remake. Tia Carrere, who voiced Nani, stars as Mrs. Kekoa, and Jason Scott Lee, who voiced David, returns as a lūʻau manager. Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin produced the film alongside executive producers Louie Provost, Tom Peitzman, and Ryan Halprin.

Disney Fans React to Lilo & Stitch (2025)

It’s safe to say that most Disney fans are obsessed with Lilo & Stitch after seeing the new trailer. With widespread controversy about the upcoming live-action Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (2025), many fans said Disney finally got it right with this trailer.

“Oh my goodness, he’s so cute,” @josytofficial wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Finally, @Disney gets it right. 💙😍

“First live action remake i’m actually looking forward to because it honors the source material,” said @kirashimoto. “Do i think these live action remakes are necessary and usually awful? yes. is there a glimmer of gold every so often? yes. and this is one of them.”

Commenters on YouTube agreed.

“This is the first Disney live-action remake I’m actually excited for, Stitch and the other alien characters look great and it’s really nostalgic to see all the scenes recreated,” @marioplayer636 wrote.
