As Disneyland Paris Resort continues multiple refurbishment projects, one new building is taking shape. McDonald’s has begun construction on a new location in the Disney Village area of the only European Disney park.
In September 2023, Disneyland Paris Resort announced a new McDonald’s location would open near Lake Disney in Disney Village. Construction walls appeared shortly thereafter, and crews broke ground in 2024. The construction comes after Starbucks recently closed multiple locations at Disneyland Paris Resort hotels for refurbishment.

McDonald’s still has one on-property location at Walt Disney World Resort, but it once had a larger presence at the United States Disney parks. McDonald’s used to have fry and nugget carts in Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disneyland Park, and the burger chain operated a full-service location at Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs). However, Disney ended its theme park partnership with McDonald’s in the mid-2000s. To this day, the Mouse frequently collaborates with the company for Happy Meal toys themed around Disney movies and theme parks.
France might be known for finer dining, but it is McDonald’s second-largest market worldwide. The chain first opened in France in 1972 and has since expanded to over 1,500 restaurants. Between locals looking for a cheap meal and international tourists seeking something familiar, McDonald’s is a perfect fit for Disneyland Paris Resort.

Even as pro-Palestinian groups boycott McDonald’s for its ties to Israel, Disneyland Paris Resort is moving full steam ahead with construction on its new fast food restaurant. The McDonald’s structure appears to be taking shape, with a grand opening planned for early 2026. The old location in Disney Village, Disneyland Paris Resort’s shopping and dining district (like Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort or Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort), will continue operating until the new building opens.
