In 2020, while Disney theme parks were closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney announced that it was closing one of its most iconic attractions — Splash Mountain. The attraction would be closing at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort and getting a Princess and the Frog (2009) retheme.

Fans were angry and begged Disney not to close the attraction they loved so much, but Disney moved ahead with its plans. Splash Mountain closed in January 2023 at Disney World and in May 2023 at Disneyland. After more than a year of work, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened on June 28 in the Magic Kingdom.

Recently, Disney announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure would open in Disneyland Park on November 15. And beginning October 21, Disneyland Magic Key Holders will be given the opportunity to ride the attraction before everyone else! The Magic Key Holder previews will take place daily between certain hours and will last through November 12.

Splash Mountain was located in Critter Country, alongside The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Hungry Bear Restaurant. However, when the new attraction opens, it will be located in the newly renamed Bayou Country!

And what better thing to have in the bayou than some mouthwatering barbecue? That’s why, earlier this summer, Disney announced that Hungry Bear Restaurant was also being changed into Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree.

Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree will not only be inspired by the South, but also by Disney World’s popular Country Bear Jamboree attraction in the Magic Kingdom.

Now, months after announcing the change, we finally have an opening date!

According to Disney, even though Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will not officially open until November 15, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree will open days after the ride opens to Magic Key Holders. Guests can begin enjoying some scrumptious barbecue on October 25!

NEW: The Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree at Disneyland Park officially opens on Oct. 25.

Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree will most likely be available through mobile order, much like its predecessor. Since new restaurants tend to be very popular, guests will want to place their mobile orders early; that way, they can guarantee they’ll be able to try it!
