Universal Orlando Resort officially adds a third theme park to its lineup tomorrow with the opening of Universal Epic Universe. We have been able to visit the park a number of times during early opening preview opportunities, and it is wonderful. From lush gardens to four IP-anchored lands, Epic Universe is an achievement and will be a success for years to come.
Ever since Universal announced Epic Universe, fan discourse has ranged from how Walt Disney World will respond, to questions on if Epic Universe will be a “Disney killer”. Of course, it’s far more nuanced than that, and Disney executives have consistently taken the approach that a rising tide lifts all ships. A new statement from Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle builds upon that sentiment.
