According to BlogMickey.com sources, Universal Epic Universe will hit an important milestone next week as Universal prepares its brand new theme park for a May 22nd debut. Universal Epic Universe has been under construction for more than 5 years now, and we’re starting to enter the home stretch, which includes previews of the park. Our sources indicate that the first large-scale Team Member previews will begin this month, and that park operations will take over the daytime hours of the theme park as early as next week. Here’s what we know.

Epic Universe Team Member Previews as Park Operations Takes Over

According to our sources, Epic Universe will be handed over to park operations beginning next week. This will reportedly mark the start of Team Member previews, which will occur on a land-by-land basis at first before expanding to the entire park by the end of the month. Universal Orlando has not returned a request for more information.

The start of the preview period marks a significant shift in who will be walking around the park during the daytime hours. Up until this month, the park has been crawling with construction crews, working hard to build Epic Universe. Starting next week, those construction crews will shift their operations from around the clock to just overnight hours as the theme park needs to be show-ready for the previews. This means that construction will be relegated to overnight hours.

While we understand that thousands of Team Members (and maybe their guests) will be part of the preview period as a whole, it’s possible that the early previews will begin at a management level before expanding to other Team Member roles. We also expect that Universal will be meticulous in how they manage the previews, first operating land-by-land, then expanding to multiple lands, and finally operating a full-park preview. Right now, we understand that a full-park preview is scheduled for later this month and into early March.

In terms of when guests might be able to step into Epic Universe for previews, that remains a mystery. Universal Orlando has previously said that it will host Annual Passholder previews of Epic Universe, but no further details have been released as of publish time. We expect that Annual Passholder previews will take place in the weeks, or months, leading up to the May 22nd opening as part of a robust preview period for the new theme park.

As with any rumor, you should treat the information in this article as unofficial unless and until Universal Orlando confirms it.
