As we continue to monitor Universal Epic Universe leading up to the grand opening, there is a bit of a developing situation for two of the park’s roller coasters. Both Curse of the Werewolf in the Dark Universe land, and Stardust Racers in Celestial Park have been down for days. Here’s what we know.

Two Roller Coasters Not Working For Days at Epic Universe

Stardust Racers, a dueling roller coaster in the Celestial Park section of Epic Universe, is not only Epic Universe’s best roller coaster, it is arguably the best roller coaster at any of Universal’s theme parks. The coaster takes guests through a series of dueling elements that put you in a race across the stars with the other coaster.

Unfortunately, Stardust Racers is currently in its third day of unexpected downtime. It’s unclear what is wrong with the roller coaster or when it will be operational again. During our visit to Epic Universe yesterday, there was no testing being done on the roller coaster, and Team Members didn’t appear to be actively working on getting it running again.

The second roller coaster that is not operational, and hasn’t been for two days now is Curse of the Werewolf. This family spinning roller coaster is located in Dark Universe and is one of two attractions in the land behind Monsters Unchained.

Just like Stardust Racers, it’s unclear what is wrong with the roller coaster, or when it will return to operation.

Another ride that has been having reliability issues is the immensely popular Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry attraction, and we’ll have plenty more thoughts to share on that soon enough.

Of course, Universal Epic Universe calls the preview opportunities “technical rehearsals”, saying that attractions or experiences may be closed at any time for any reason. In our opinion, any leeway that Universal may be afforded during a preview goes out the window when guests are paying nearly full price for a ticket. Others would disagree.

Either way, Epic Universe is starting to see some bad press on social media as guests post about their frustration with the current state of ride reliability at the new park. Hopefully Universal Orlando is able to turn things around very quickly or it may be worth considering skipping the park this Summer as you finalize your vacation plans.
