Universal Orlando Resort is unexpectedly offering a traditional standby queue for the very popular Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride at Epic Universe. This is the first time that a traditional standby queue has been utilized. Prior to that, Universal Orlando was operating the attraction with a very unpopular and glitchy Virtual Line. The ride opened at 9am and then broke down shortly thereafter.

Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry Standby Line

Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry was originally scheduled to be closed today, but it reopened early and allowed guests to join the standby line. The queue is able to hold hours and hours of guests, and it’s one of the best queues we’ve ever experienced. That said, the attraction does not appear to be reliable this morning, and guests will likely spend a TON of time in the queue if they want to try and wait out the downtime(s).

It’s unclear if Universal Orlando will continue to operate a standby line when Epic Universe officially opens on May 22nd. Universal advises guests to check the Universal Orlando app on the day of their visit to get the latest operational status of Virtual Line and attractions.
