The Swiss Family Treehouse is open again to guests following a 5-week refurbishment and a delayed reopening. However, the Treehouse isn’t exactly in ship shape, with multiple construction scrims still in place and a portion of the self-guided walkthrough experience still closed off to guests.
Swiss Family Treehouse Reopens…Sort Of
Most of the Treehouse is walkable, and none of it seems to be unsafe, although the topmost living quarters remain blocked off to guests. In addition to the upper living quarters, the large wooden wheel remains behind construction scrims as well. The wheel hasn’t been working properly in years and I can’t remember a time where I even saw it working at all in 2024.
The reopening of the Swiss Family Treehouse appears to be a situation where park operations forced the issue for capacity reasons during the busiest time of year despite Imagineering running long on the refurbishment. I would wager that if it were any other time of the year, it would still be closed today as work continues to get it into show-ready shape. Here’s a look around!
