While visiting Magic Kingdom this morning, we stopped by Storybook Circus to check in on the tent structures ahead of a planned refurbishment. As you’ll soon see, the refurbishment couldn’t come at a better time. There are multiple points of damage to the tent, and even a pretty substantial tear in the Pete’s Silly Sideshow tent. Here’s a look around.

Storybook Circus Tents Torn & Damaged

As a reminder, Pete’s Silly Sideshow will be closed starting January 4th after being moved up on the refurbishment schedule. Back in October, Walt Disney World filed two permits that indicate that multiple Storybook Circus tents will undergo a lengthy refurbishment this year.

Ahead of that refurbishment, we stopped by Storybook Circus to find some extensive damage on the tents.

We’ll start with the tent in the poorest condition. Thankfully, the tent with the worst damage is the one that is being refurbished first. Here’s a look at the damage seen on the Pete’s Silly Sideshow tent.

A worn red tent at Disney World with peeling paint and visible metal supports against a bright blue sky.

Nearby, the Big Top Souvenirs tent is showing signs of damage that could expand if unaddressed. As you can see, the fabric is torn near a peak where a pole appears ready to poke through.

The Dumbo the Flying Elephant structure is also showing signs of wear, but it doesn’t appear to be the same style of tent structure as Pete’s Silly Sideshow and Big Top Souvenirs.

Walt Disney World has not announced an end date for the Pete’s Silly Sideshow refurbishment, and they have not announced a start date for the Big Top Souvenirs refurbishment, but we assume that it’ll happen in phases throughout the year.
