Nearly 6 years after Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge debuted, roaming droids have finally arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Roaming droids were one of the early promises for Galaxy’s Edge that didn’t come to fruition. We spotted a version of a roaming droid testing at Disneyland back in 2017, but roaming droids were cut from the debut of the Star Wars land. Now, the BD-X roaming droids can be found in Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! They will be around for a limited time, although Disney has not returned a request for comment about the timeline for the droids.
Roaming BD-X Droids Finally Arrive in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
There are three roaming “BD-X” droids, each with its own personality (and identifying color). The droids are part of an interactive show, driven by a character named “Kembe”. As Kembe interacts with the audience, various scenarios are presented that give the droids an opportunity to show off their skills and personalities. Here’s a look!

Unfortunately, the BD-X droids are not waterproof, and even the lightest sprinkle of rain will end the appearance.
