Walt Disney World has filed Notice of Commencement permits for the lengthy room refurbishment scheduled at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The permits list JCQ Services as the contractor, and they have an expiration date of August 28, 2026. Walt Disney World has previously announced a room refurbishment for a portion of Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and this permit offers a little bit more insight into what guests can expect.
Pop Century Room Refurbishment Permits
Officially, Walt Disney World says that the construction will last from late March 2025 to mid-February 2026. It’s a little bit odd that the permit stretches all the way into August 2026. That’s more significant of a buffer than we typically see for work officially ending in February 2026. That said, Disney has not posted the room refurbishment notice to its website as of publish time of this article, so it’s possible that the timeframe could be adjusted as needed.
Beyond the timeframe of the project, the permits also inform us what buildings are being refurbished. There were three permits filed, covering Building 1, Building 2, and Building 3. This is the 50s section of the resort on the north end of the campus-style complex.
While Walt Disney World hasn’t released any concept art or info on what changes may be occurring, JCQ Services has done a number of room refurbishment projects, including:
- All-Star Movies
- Yacht Club
- Dolphin Resort
- and previous Pop Century Resort updates
