Walt Disney World has finally confirmed that a guest room refurbishment is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Back in October 2024, BlogMickey.com reported that a room refurbishment was likely on the horizon based on permit data. Now, Walt Disney World has not only confirmed the room refurbishment that we reported, but even more refurbishments are planned for the resort through 2027! Here’s the latest.

Multi-Year Animal Kingdom Lodge Guest Room Refurbishment

According to an announcement from Walt Disney World, guest room refurbishments will begin in the Kidani Village section of the resort this October. The Kidani Village guest room refurbishment will last through May 2026. Then, starting in May 2026, a lengthy refurbishment will take place at Jambo House. The Jambo House refurbishment is expected to last through January 2027.

From October 2025 through May 2026, Guest rooms at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment, followed by refurbishment work at Jambo House from May 2026 through January 2027. During these times, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. All amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

Both of the refurbishments will take quite some time, suggesting that the guest rooms will receive a “hard goods” refurbishment, which (generally) means taking the room down to the studs or close to it, and performing a refresh.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge guest room refurbishment continues a string of hard goods refurbishments taking place at Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Currently, there are a number of hard goods refurbishment projects taking place, including work at Bay Lake Tower, Pop Century Resort, Copper Creek, and Disney’s Port Orleans.
