Just in time for temperatures to dip into the 30s in Central Florida, Kali River Rapids is closed for its annual refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The you-will-get-soaked water ride is located in the Asia section of the theme park, and it typically closes every year around this time for a refurbishment. Of course, the timing is intentional, and it coincides with the coldest months of the year when nobody would want to ride it anyway. We stopped by Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently to take a look at the work.

Kali River Rapids Closed for Refurbishment

Kali River Rapids will be closed through sometime in March. Walt Disney World typically aims for the middle of the month, but so far they have only said that the attraction will reopen sometime in March. Here’s a look at the attraction, which has been drained and scaffolding has been installed in places for crews to refresh and clean the attraction. We’ve also included photos from when the ride is operational to show that the crews are walking in the ride trough.
